Auditions for the chorale families upcoming 2008/2009 season:
LIVINGSTON COUNTY CHORALE – First Rehearsal! Tuesday, Aug. 26 6:30-9:30 p.m: drop-in voice testing 7:30-8:00 p.m: rehearsal Greetings! I have just returned from a tour to China with the Stanford University choirs and orchestra. Now, I am intently preparing for the LCC’s upcoming fall season! I am so excited to meet everyone at the beginning of our new season and I look forward to making beautiful music with you all! As a conductor, I am passionate about making the rehearsal process fun while concurrently challenging choir members to expand their abilities and open their hearts and minds to new ideas and repertoire. I encourage all of those who have participated in years past to come join us this fall. Never sung with the Chorale but interested in checking it out? Let’s be new to the LCC together! So, how will we get things rolling this fall? On Tuesday, August 26 (yes, the Tuesday BEFORE Labor Day!), we will gather at 7:30 pm to get acquainted and to read through some new music until around 8:00 pm. However, I would like to hear every member of the choir for a painless voice testing session. To this end, please plan to come early or stay late to sing for me for 3-5 minutes. I will be at Brighton High School from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm that evening for this purpose. Just a few warm-ups to test range and vocal quality, as well as a couple of sight-singing exercises to gauge score-reading ability. No need to prepare a song. Truly painless. If for some reason you can’t make this first rehearsal, please contact me at reed.criddle@gmail.com to make other arrangements.
